Back in the day, I used to play Simcountry, but I never really understood how to play it as it was a quite complex game and it wasn't helped by the fact that that the interface was still stuck somewhere in the 90's and wasn't very user-friendly.

wow, Freddie, that's exactly where we started Ameristar first time, back in 2008, in Simcountry, I think I still have my old account around there, that was an difficult game too, still is
we started as a federation, we had 25 members and we were involved in two wars, one we lost and then we got our revenge and we obliterated the enemy few months later, then we started a second federation, kind of like we want to do here, and we kept going for about 4 years, until many got bored of the game

well, I just realized you guys are talking about other games yes, we did start Ameristar, as a federation back in the days in Simcountry and he's shy to admit it, but Bryan was a superpower, a nuclear power there and he wiped out our enemies... hehe... I think we still have the accounts, but no Greg, we don't play it anymore, not on a regular basis, as it wasn't much interest for it after 3-4 years of playing... now, the game that we still play - more or less, when we are not here - is a trucking simulation, you can join us here... if you join, look for the Ameristar company and join us... Warp is a VP there too Trucking Simit's a much simple game, very very simple, not even close to the virto, but it's fun and relaxing - I log in maybe once every two days, from my phone mostly, move my truck and that's it... it used to be more active back in the days, but the game owner & developer, a brilliant coder and scripter I may add, he found a very demanding job in his real-life, as such he's neglecting the game, and with that players lose interest, but it's a fun 5 minutes on my phone, while waiting at a McDonald's to get my egg-sausage breakfast burritos... hehe... at first, for a new player, it can be fun, and may require more than 5 minutes, just to set yourself up, to buy your truck, then to upgrade it, to make some money for it, but once you reach higher and higher levels, you'll have better and better trucks, at that point is no more than 5 minutes when you log in, because there is not much else to do... except maybe to chat with us in the chat room... hehe... give it a try and join us there too, see how it goes, but is so simple, it's ridiculous... hehe... however it's fun too...

great Greg
would be awesome to see you in the trucking sim as well...
I used to play all the tycoon games as you mentioned... it was an old one Capitalism, not online, only singleplayer on the PC, spent hours with that too...
then, a French national came up with an online version, that was good, but the guy didn't had the money and/or desire to maintain it anymore, as such it became obsolete, it just dissapeared...
now, about Simcountry...
that is also a very, very complex game, very dificult as well, very deep too... requires some time commitment to make progress there... it's a more warlike game and it's worth attention in a team, it can be extremely fun...
if the team wants, we can try to move there too, I beleive my old account is still active, I log in there maybe once or twice a year, just when ever I remember, more for old time sake....
alone, is not that much fun, but in a team, as a federation-alliance, a lot can be accomplished there...
we were involved in a worl war there, we lost first time, because we were not prepared...
but, then we rebounded, we grew stronger, got better prepared and with the crazy Bryan not afraid to use his nukes, we obliterate our enemies... hehe... I had nukes too, but I was thinking it's not fair to nuke a smaler country, if they don't have nukes...
well our crazy Bryan had no such problem, he nuked all our enemies, thus we won the war... hehe... fun, fun times indeed...
now, you should not assume it's easy to reach the nuclear power level, I guess our Freddie knows that already, it takes years in the making, but we did it, the Ameristar reputation was on the line, so we did it...

Hey, I am playing Ikariam, it's a financial strategy game where war might be possible but usually the players make huge alliances to keep the peace. The one who can make more money is the best. Someone played this game?

But like any game, without money you can't compete against the giants. I played Seafight too. A real-time online pirate game, where you have to build your boat, get bullets, pirates, attack islands of other clans, conquer maps, very funny. Other very interesting strategy games that I like are Cities Skylines and Europa universalis

I don't think I ever tried Ikariam but the name sounds familiar, so maybe G dragged me into it at one point in time but it didn't clicked with me my thing is I barely have time for this game here, and the trucking sim, so I don't think I can try something else
